Solo Eats Segment: Babalu's Overton

I'm the type of person that absolutely enjoys doing things by myself. It doesn't matter what it is, movies, restaurants, skating, the park, traveling you name it.

In my free time I love going to different restaurants and trying different foods this was my third time coming to Babalu and I always get the same thing: The Lamb Sliders with Rosti Potatoes. The lamb Sliders are described as “grass-fed Australian ground lamb, goat cheese, pickled red onions, arugula, chipotle aioli on sweet sourdough slider buns. The potatoes are crispy potatoes sautéed with garlic, shallots, chihuahua cheese and teriyaki glaze- ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING!!

The potatoes pair so well with the sliders and it’s almost like I taste a different component from each dish each time I try it. This last time I noticed the chihuahua cheese and how it adds a layer of texture to the potatoes. With the sliders this time I noticed the pickled onions, my friend made a cold cut sandwich for me about a month ago that had pickled onions and it added so much to it! These sliders were no different, the onions gave it a certain bite that really ties the sweetness from the bread, the creaminess of the goat cheese and spice from the chipotle aioli all together. The arugula has this delicious peppery taste that adds depth of flavor. I’ve tried a few different tacos from Babalu like the short rib taco and it was good, don’t get me wrong, but its something about these sliders and potatoes lol. I do plan to try Red Fish sandwich next time but I might still get some Lamb Sliders to-go! Next time your near Overton Square I highly recomend stopping by Babalu to try those sliders!
