Your at Home Skin Care Routine.
What is your skin care routine like at home? Do you even have a skin care routine? Well if you don't then you very well should. I love a good facial but what good is it if you don't know how to maintain your results at home? Today we're going to get into a simple skin care routine that anyone can adopt, men, women, and teens alike! I know you're wondering where to start, well let me tell you! First thing is first you have to choose a cleanser that works well with your skin. For myself I use Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel, it is perfect for my normal to dry skin ( I will do another blog on how to determine what kind of skin you have). I also use Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse whenever I want to do a really good "double cleanse" which for me, just leaves my skin feeling super clean but not all dried out and stuff. Okay, so after the double cleanse or simply one good cleanse (1-2 minutes or more) we move on to exfoliate. You only want to exfoliate 2-3 times a week for normal to dry skin and 1-2 times a week for sensitive and oily skin. If you over exfoliate oily skin it can cause the skin to over produce sebum which is the oil in the skin that causes clogged pores and acne. I use dermalogica Daily Microfoliant or if I need a little extra scrubbing I will use a coffee scrub I make myself or Skin Prep Scrub from dermalogica. After exfoliating you can do a mask, depending on what kind of mask 2-3 times a week for normal to dry and 1-2 times a week for oily and sensitive especially if its a drying mask to help pull out impurities or something like that. There are so many different masks that can help target whatever situation your are trying to address with your skin. For myself I use hydrating masks since I know I have normal to dry skin. Next, you want to get a moisturizer I recommend getting one with an SPF added. Yes, you NEED sunscreen and not just to lower the risks of skin cancer, but sun exposure without SPF can cause premature aging and overall sun damage to the skin. I would opt for a SPF no lower than 30 for my face, I current use Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30. To finish my skin care routine sometimes I use Barrier Repair by dermalogica, it is a silicone based product to help protect the skin from the elements and helps lock in moisture for the day its one of my favorite products. I hope you all enjoyed and I hope this article will help manifest a new skin care routine for you that will have you looking stunningly amazing :)
