What's a microdermabrasion: This is a non-invasive, pain free procedure that gently removes dead skin cells that accumulate on the face, neck, back, chest and hands. We use a diamond tipped wand to manually buffer the outermost layer of skin. Who is the best candidate for microdermabrasion: patients with fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, uneven pigmentation, clogged pores, skin texture problems, or minor scars are good candidates. The gentle exfoliation done by microdermabrasion treatments can eliminate or improve skin imperfections and conditions by removing the upper layer of dead and damaged skin cells. Clients with active acne can also benefit from microdermabrasion. Who is not the best candidate for microdermabrasion: microdermabrasion is not recommended for people with deep scars, active keloids, undiagnosed lesions, a recent herpes outbreak, watts on the face, active type 3 or 4 acne, an auto immune system disorder, or unstable diabetes. Pregnant women, clients who have had recent chemical peels or injections should wait a two-three week period before undergoing microdermabrasion.
